The stamp is a new Penny Black one and I think it's gorgeous. I hope you think so too.

Sunset
Just a very quick post to show a card I'm pretty pleased with. Some crafty friends came round on Friday and we did some sponging with distress inks and solid stamps.
Up in the air
The theme this week at Less is More is Up in the air, so I took the opportunity to use a couple of dies I bought a while ago and haven't used yet.
I sponged the grass, sky and balloon with distress inks and coloured the houses with pens. I'm aware there isn't any white space but I think it is still fairly clean and simple.
Enjoy your week.

Less is More One Layer Week 106
It's one layer week at Less is More and I still struggle with these sometimes. I love CAS cards and find it hard to do lots of layers (I now have oodles of gorgeous background papers gathering dust) but also find I want to put an embellishment on sometimes, just to add an extra feature.
This week's theme is Music but I find I don't have many music themed stamps, despite having a very muscial DH. I remembered this old stamp (I think it's Stamps Happen) and pulled out my even older Royal Satin Kaleidocolor ink pad that I still love. I dragged the colour slightly with a damp brush to blend the colours.
I'm not really happy with this, it fits the challenge but doesn't inspire me much. Ah well, another one for the box.

Happy 2nd Birthday Less Is More
First of all, I'd like to wish the girls at Less is More a very happy second birthday. Ladies, you do a fabulous job week after week and you have helped me stretch my creativity.
I love this colourway, it's odd because if you had said brown and beige, I would not be inspired at all.
So here are my two cards. Firstly a layered daisy die from Simon Says Stamp and some partial embossing.
And this one is using a new technique for me. Dust some chalk over the card, then stamp with Versamark which lifts the chalk and then, my personal addition, emboss with clear powder.
I'm really liking this technique, I can see lots of possibilities for Christmas.
I'm going to have a look at some of the other lovely entries so far.
Have a good week.

Less is more - Four square cards
I love the Less is More challenge this week, it's a beautifully simple sketch from Jen, and I was so inspired I kept making cards!
This is the sketch, simple but still challenging.
And here are my humble offerings, just in the nick of time.
And I managed to find four different techniques to use. I'm not really sure which one is my favourite, what do you think?
